Maverick joined the IBR in July 2022 as a Public Health Research Associate for the ACTION Study. Having recently completed his Masters of Medical Science, he is excited to contribute his medical knowledge and his prior research experiences to contribute to the team. He previously spent years as a researcher at UTSouthwestern as a Clinical Data Specialist studying Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar disorder, Anxiety) and Resilience, and as a Research Assistant studying Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus in HIV+ MSM and transgender women.
Maverick is passionate about combining these research interests to advance a career in medicine, as he hopes to attend medical school in the future.
