The IBR also provides advanced research training for Ph.D. students in partnership with TCU’s Department of Psychology.

SOAR Lab Tier Structures

All students are invited to attend SOAR Lab monthly meetings (Tier 1), which feature research presentations by scientists and graduate students and introduce lab members to applied research methods by featuring opportunities to conduct a community-based research project with peers (led by IBR Graduate Students). Tier 1 students also collaborate on poster presentations as part of the Student Research Symposium (SRS) each spring.

Time Commitment: 1 – 3 Hours Per Month
How to Apply: No application needed. Email soar@tcu.edu to be added to the email list.

Students are invited to apply for Tier 2 to receive a placement at the IBR and gain hands-on experience with large-scale research projects. These placements are competitive and require a commitment of 10 hours per week for the semester. Participation in Tier 1 is required to qualify for Tier 2.

**Please note that Tier 2 positions are for course credit only.
