IBR scientist Dr. Jenny Becan is a co-author on a newly published article in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment. The study examines the costs associated with implementing strategies to improve access to substance use disorder treatment for youth involved in the legal system.

The research draws on data from 34 juvenile justice agencies across seven states and provides one of the first detailed cost analyses of system-level implementation efforts. Findings highlight the importance of planning for resources needed to support interagency collaboration between juvenile justice and behavioral health organizations.
